Clean Streets

Maintaining a clean streetscape is a crucial step in assuring that the Golden Triangle is a welcoming place for all who step foot in within its boundaries. To help make sure the streets are clean, the BID has more than 600 trash cans and cigarette urns throughout the neighborhood to make it convenient for workers and visitors to do their part to keep the streets golden and Ambassadors empty trash cans an average of 70,000 times a year. In addition to day-to-day cleaning activities like pressure washing and gum busting sidewalks, sweeping curbcuts, and emptying trash cans, the BID has focused initiatives laid out in the Ambassadors' yearly work plan. One such initiative is Spring Cleanup Week, which occurs each April as an all-out push to make the streets sparkle as spring beckons more people to enjoy their time out in the neighborhood. They meticulously polish the blocks by power washing sidewalks, cleaning metro grates, sweeping sidewalks, painting street elements, inspecting newspaper boxes, and more.
