Homeless Outreach

Through the Homeless Outreach Program, the Golden Triangle BID engages in constructive approaches to helping homeless persons move from life on the streets to a life of independence, good health and stability. The BID contracts outreach workers to develop relationships with homeless people to provide for their basic needs and to link them with services that help get them off the street. These services range from providing a bus token so that a homeless person can get to a job interview to assisting someone as they enroll in mental health or addiction services.

The efforts of the Golden Triangle's outreach team to assess vulnerability led to the housing of 18 of the Golden Triangle's most chronically homeless individuals in 2011.

The BID also works closely with property managers and retailers on a case-by-case basis on issues related to homelessness in the neighborhood.
