Transportation

Getting people to and from the Golden Triangle continues to be critical to the Golden Triangle BID’s mission of creating a welcoming neighborhood and to the vitality of greater downtown DC. At the center of DC's business district and just steps from the White House, the Golden Triangle has amazing multimodal accessibility. Three Metro stations (Farragut North, Farragut West, and Dupont Circle) service three Metro lines (Red, Blue, Orange) and have six entrances in the Golden Triangle. There are bus shelters and bus stops on every block, making it possible to chose from many Metro bus routes that pass through the BID. A Smartbike location and more than 330 BID-owned bike racks on the streets make bike commuting another easy way to get around. Major corridors like K Street and Connecticut Avenue facilitate the flow of vehicles through the Golden Triangle, and pedestrain traffic--whether it is people heading to work or window shopping--is always high.

In addition, at $1 a trip, the Circulator bus continues to be the best deal in town. Started by DC business improvement districts to help improve traffic flow through the K Street corridor and other downtown streets, the Circulator carries workers, area residents and tourists to and from the Golden Triangle.

The Golden Triangle BID works closely with partners like the Department of Public Works (DPW) and the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) on improving mobility in the central business district and is always seeking new ways to make it convenient and pleasant to travel to and from the BID--from public art to Ambassador services and more.
