GOLDEN TRIANGLE BID ANNOUNCES “DINE GOLDEN | PARK GOLDEN”
--Restaurants and Parking Garages Offer Hot Summer Specials--
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 28, 2010) --The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) is announcing “Dine Golden/Park Golden,” an innovative partnership with more than 25 restaurants and 10 parking garages in the central business community designed to attract diners to some of Washington’s most popular restaurants this summer.
From Thursday, July 1 through Saturday, August 14, several of DC’s finest restaurants are offering special “buy- one, get- one free” deals after 5:00 p.m. Select parking garages will extend their hours and will offer a flat $5 fee from 5:00 p.m. until at least midnight on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. During this six-week promotion, there will be more than 2,300 additional parking spaces available in the Golden Triangle BID. “The strategy is to entice people to come to the Golden Triangle with dining specials and reasonable pricing for parking,” said Leona Agouridis, executive Director of the Golden Triangle BID. “While we encourage people to take Metro, and know many will use valet services and the street meters, this opens up additional options by providing more parking spaces for people who drive.”
Several suburban communities have free weekend public parking, but in the District, parking in premium areas with popular restaurants can add up.
Lynne Breaux, president of the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, applauded the Golden Triangle BID’s approach to support the restaurants and parking garages located in the central business community.
“The Golden Triangle BID’s ‘Dine Golden/ Park Golden’ is a creative approach to exposing greater numbers of diners to our fantastic downtown dining scene, that, when combined with facilitating the ease of nighttime parking , will make this a phenomenal success,” Breaux said.
Some participating restaurants include The Palm, The Oval Room, The Bombay Club and I Ricchi. A list of the other restaurants is listed below.
Also, the Golden Triangle Summer Concert Series continues, featuring some of the region’s best bands every Thursday through July 22.
