Golden Triangle Business Improvement District Celebrates a Renewed Charter and a New Look

Washington, D.C. [Sept 17, 2008] –The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) will celebrate its eleventh year of service to the central business district on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 9:30am at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel. Speakers include Washington DC Economic Partnership President Steve Moore, BID President Carlton Diehl, and BID Executive Director Leona Agouridis.

The event is a chance to share the past year’s accomplishments and look to the future as the BID’s official charter has been renewed, allowing for another five years of service. It is also the first time members and stakeholders will see the new visual identity of the BID—a new look and logo that will carry across streetscape elements and BID business communications.

“The Golden Triangle BID has been providing services to the business district for over a decade,” said Carlton Diehl, BID President and Chief Operating Officer of Cafritz Company. “This is a bustling, cosmopolitan neighborhood and the renewal of our charter is a propitious time for us to refresh our brand identity to better represent the area.”

With over 30 million square feet of office and retail space, over $10 million in tax revenue per block to the City, and an average wage of $86,000 per area worker, the Golden Triangle BID plays a pivotal role in shaping the economic and cultural atmosphere in DC.

“Our services are more than just keeping the streets clean and friendly,” Executive Director Leona Agouridis said. “We have a duty to promote, enhance, and otherwise improve an already stellar destination. Each year we renew our commitment to this area and this year we are glad to know we can keep serving the area for another five, thanks to the renewal of our charter.”
