Golden Triangle BID Unveils Artistic Bike Rack – “Exploration”
Installation of Fourth Bike Rack Offers Public Art and Sustainable Transportation
WHAT: An event to unveil “Exploration,” the fourth in a series of artistic bike racks commissioned by the Golden Triangle BID. Designed by two National Geographic employees, “Exploration” is a series of circles , each depicting a different image found in nature – water, earth, moon and sun. “Exploration” calls us all to discover the world around us, including the neighborhoods where we live and work.

WHY: To unveil the fourth bike rack the Golden Triangle BID has installed as part of a program to promote alternative transportation and bring art to the public space. “(Re)Cycle,” the most recent addition to the series, was unveiled at 1901 Pennsylvania Ave. in October. Since 2000, the Golden Triangle has installed more than 350 bike racks in the neighborhood.
