Golden Triangle Summer Concert Series
Downtown DC heats up each summer with the free Golden Triangle Summer Concerts concert series (formerly known as "Sounds in the Square") held in Farragut Square Park on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in June and July. Prizes from area businesses listed below will be given away at the end of each show!

2010 Lineup and Weekly Prizes:
June 10 – Jah Works (reggae)
Prizes: $100 to Patsy's Nail Bar & a free weekend night stay at The Quincy hotel
June 17 – Lloyd Dobler Effect (rock)
Prizes: $100 to Elephant and Castle & $100 to Bread & Brew
June 24 – Road Soda (variety rock covers)
Prizes: $100 to Hello Cupcake & $100 to Vidalia
July 1 – Cazhmiere (funk & soul)
Prizes: $100 to Elephant and Castle & $100 to Famous Luigi's
July 8 – Sin Miedo (Latin & salsa) WITH SALSA DANCERS!
Prizes: $100 to Jos. A Banks & $100 to Kellari Taverna and Three-months free membership to Washington Sports Club
July 15 – Crowded Streets (Dave Matthews tribute)
Prizes: $100 to Beauty 360 and free lunch for two people for a week at Roti Mediterranean Grill & $150 and gifts to Morton's The Steakhouse
July 22 – Kelly Bell Band (rock and blues)
Prizes: $100 to The Madhatter, $200 to Filene's Basement and $100 to BlackFinn American Saloon
About 300 people grab a blanket and some friends and hit the park after work to take part in the local music scene for each show. The concert series has featured some of the area’s most popular local bands and great entertainment such as Kelly Bell Band, JunkFood, Crowded Streets, Jahworks, Road Soda, Gonzo’s Nose, Rebelicious, Everyone But Pete, Justin Jones & the Driving Rain, No Second Troy, and other great artists.
At the Golden Triangle Summer Concerts, you can expect the unexpected—whether it is impromptu salsa dancing, a marriage proposal, or something else entirely, there is always something more than just great music to keep you entertained.
