Donna McGee & Jenny Brake:
Foundry Gallery
Foundry Gallery was formed in the 1970s as a self-supporting artist cooperative that showcased diverse art from local DC artists. Today, with 19 talented members, the gallery continues by representing artists who produce a range of sophisticated and engaging works. Watercolors, acrylics, photographs, collages, and sculptures are all on display in this intimate space on 18th Street. Donna McGee has been a member since 2006, and Jenny Brake since 2003. The stunning work of both artists is on display at the current show.
The first Friday night of each month hosts an opening reception for that month's show, and the artists often organize workshops free to the public on everything from how to sketch to specific painting techniques.
